Commissioner Valerie Covey - Precinct Three

Valerie Covey was sworn into office on November 20, 2006. She was elected to serve the unexpired term of the late Tom McDaniel, who also was her employer at the S. Thomas McDaniel CPA office. Valerie has been a certified public accountant for more than 20 years and is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin. She previously was an audit manager for Ernst & Young LLP and has worked for the Texas Comptroller’s Office on a subcontract basis. She and her husband of over 20 years, Mark Covey, are blessed with three boys: Matthew, a high school junior; Zachary, an 8th grader; and Joshua, a 4th grader. Valerie and her family moved from Austin to Georgetown more than 12 years ago and are active members of the community and First Baptist Church of Georgetown.
 

Precinct Three

Precinct three encompasses the north central portion of Williamson County. Georgetown, the County seat, is located in Precinct 3, as are the towns of Florence, Jarrell, Walburg, Weir, Theon, Andice, part of Jonah as well as some parts of Round Rock and the Brushy Creek area of Williamson County.

Ø Does the County maintain my road?
To find out, download this alphabetical
list of county maintained roads and subdivisions. (This file is in Rich Text Format - rtf - which is readable by most word processing software and the WordPad application which comes with Windows 95® and higher). You may also call Commissioners Court records at (512) 943-1515 or contact the Road Department office at (512) 943-3330.

Ø Whom do I contact about road repair or maintenance?
Road maintenance and repair calls are handled by the
Road Department. Call (512) 943-3330 to report problems.

Ø Where can I get a copy of the County subdivision regulations?
A copy can be obtained from the County Clerk's office located on the ground floor of the County Courthouse on the square in Georgetown. There is a $5.00 charge per copy. However, the County Engineer's Web site has a number of
publications available for download, including the subdivision regulations.

Ø Where do I pay a traffic ticket?
Traffic tickets from city police are paid to city offices located at 113 E. 8th Street. If the ticket is from a County sheriff or DPS officer, you should contact the Justice of the Peace for Precinct 3. Judge Steve Benton is the Precinct 3 Justice of the Peace and his office can be reached at (512) 943-1501.

Ø Where can I see a summary of the county budget?
This
budget began in effect at the start of the County's fiscal year on October 1, 2004.

Ø When do the Commissioners Court meet?
Commissioners Court convenes every Tuesday at 9:30 am at the Inner Loop Annex. These are public meetings. The
agenda for each Commissioners Court is available online and is also posted at the Courthouse on Friday prior to the Tuesday session. Please see the Commissioners Court page for more information.
