The Patrol Division is responsible for providing public safety and assistance to over 135,000 Williamson County citizens, along with DWI and Traffic Enforcement throughout the entire County. The Patrol Division Captain, Shawn Newsom, and Specialized Units are based out of the Headquarters Office located in Georgetown, Texas. To better assist the citizens of Williamson County, the Sheriff’s Office also operates two additional substations on the West and East side of the county. Captain Newsom may be reached by calling the Office Specialist at 512-943-5270 during regular business hours, Monday through Friday.
West Substation
The West Substation is located in the Williamson County Annex at 350 Discovery Blvd in Cedar Park, Texas (see map). The West Substation is fully staffed with administrative staff including Lieutenants, Sergeants and Patrol Deputies. The West Command also includes an Administrative Assistant.
Deputies assigned to the Westside Substation are responsible for patrolling approximately 500 square miles in the western portion of Williamson County, which consists of the unincorporated areas around North Austin, Anderson Mill, Round Rock, Cedar Park, Leander, Liberty Hill, and Georgetown and makes up about 75% of the county's unincorporated population. Uniformed deputies are responsible for answering calls for service ranging from in-progress crimes against persons to motorist assists, and legal questions. They further serve and protect the citizens through patrol and crime suppression activities. All deputies assigned to the Westside use community policing techniques to further support their patrolling and criminal apprehension efforts.

The East Substation is located in the Williamson County Annex at 412 Vance Street in Taylor, Texas (see map). The East Substation is fully staffed with administrative staff including Lieutenants, Sergeants and Patrol Deputies. The East Command also includes an Administrative Assistant.
Deputies assigned to the East Substation are responsible for patrolling the portion of Williamson County East of Interstate 35 as well as a sizeable portion of the northern part of the county East of the Interstate. While patrolling their districts, uniformed deputies answer calls for service, assist motorists, and protect the citizens through community policing.
