Homeland Defense Volunteer Unit

The Williamson County Sheriff's Office has developed a Homeland Defense Volunteer Unit. Our mission is to support the department in reducing crime and terrorism, reduce the fear of crime and terrorism and improve the quality of service to be citizens of Williamson County. If you desire to serve your community, have a clean arrest record, then please volunteer.

The Homeland Defense Unit will consist of the following functions:
  1. Headquarters Company; Various Support Positions

  2. Search and Rescue Company; Civilian SAR Positions

  3. Civil Defense Company; Civilian Positions

 

Upon appointment to the Homeland Defense Unit, members will be trained in areas of Search and Rescue, Basic First Aid and CPR, Hazardous Material Identification & Response and community emergency response. After completion of required training, members will be utilized in areas they are assigned. The unit will be called upon in order to assist in citizens patrols, school related activities, neighborhood watches, search and rescue and security for natural disasters.

All applicants must meet current hiring standards, which includes a Background Investigation. If you have any questions please contact Johnathan Kidwell.
