WILLIAMSON COUNTY REGIONAL ANIMAL SHELTER CELEBREATES OCTOBER AS ADOPT-A-SHELTER DOG-MONTH
October 3, 2007 (Williamson County) -- October is Adopt-A-Shelter-Dog Month. Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter will give a discount on all shelter dogs! After a $25 deduction, each dog will have an adoption fee of $60. Adoption fees cover basic vaccines, spay/neuter surgeries, and a microchip. In addition, for dogs it will include heartworm screening.
Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter currently has about 60 dogs. Adoptable dogs include pure-breeds from Chihuahuas to German shepherds to cow dogs to basset hounds. All types of great mixed-breeds are available for adoption, too!
Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter’s Director Cheryl Schneider says, “Dogs are called man’s best friend for a reason. Their loyalty, intelligence and affection are very rewarding. Nothing could be more enjoyable than a long walk with their best friend in the morning, seeing their pet’s tail wag excitedly when its time to play in the park, or just relaxing at home in each other’s company. All the love you put in, a dog will give you back tenfold.”
The Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter is open Tuesday through Friday from noon to 6 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The shelter is located at 1855 S.E. Inner Loop in Georgetown. To reach the shelter from IH-35, take Exit 259 and go east two miles. The shelter is located on the north side of the road just east of FM 1460.
