GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT WEDDINGS

 

Judge Johnson will perform weddings at the courthouse located at 211 Commerce Cove, Building B, Ste. 106, Round Rock, Texas and at any facility in and outside the county.  Weddings are arranged by appointment only.  Contact the Court at 512-248-3220 for questions concerning dates and fees.

 

 

OBTAINING A MARRIAGE LICENSE

 

If a couple is applying for a marriage license in Williamson County both applicants should come to the Justice Center located at 405 MLK Street, Georgetown, TX.  The County Clerk’s Office is located in the basement and the hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 8:00a.m. to 4:30p.m.   The requirements are:

1. Both parties must be present
2. Both parties must have a valid state-issued picture ID or a certified copy of their birth certificate.
3. Both parties must be aged 18 or over, or have a parent or guardian present to sign consent.
4. License is not valid for 72 hours after issuance and expires 30 days from date of issuance
5. No blood test is necessary at this time.
6. Cost of license is $37.00 (Cash Only)

In the state of Texas, there is a 30 day waiting period after a divorce is final. We can issue the license on the 31^st day from the final date.  If the applicants are remarrying each other then it does not apply.

A marriage license may is purchased in any county in Texas and the couple can get married in any county in Texas.
