Williamson County EMS serves every person in the 1124
square miles of the County, everyone in Travis County who is in the city
limits of Round Rock and Cedar Park. All of these areas are covered by 911
emergency dialing. This is the best way of contacting EMS in an emergency,
although requests can be made through the sheriff, local police or fire
departments. The 911 requests are handled by Telecommunication Specialists
who dispatch EMS and, in some areas, local fire fighters or police who may
arrive on the scene first.
The department maintains stations in these communities
staffed 24 hours a day:
- Anderson Mill
- Cedar Park
- Georgetown (3 stations)
- Leander
- Round Rock (4 stations)
- Taylor (2 stations)

The organization consists of 101 full-time personnel. All full-time field and administrative personnel are paramedics
certified or licensed by the Department of State Health Services. Williamson County
EMS is taking the lead in providing
emergency
medical education.

Medical Records Policy
Medical records can be obtained from the Custodian
of Records. After verification with the Custodian of Records that a
medical record has been created on a patient, a copy of the record
can be obtained by the patient (or by the parent or guardian of a
minor) by presenting to the Custodian of Records a picture I.D at
the Administrative Offices, 303 MLK St. Georgetown, TX 78626. The
individual may request a medical release of records to be mailed to
them. Once the release is signed by the patient (or parent or
guardian) and notarized and returned to the Custodian of Records,
the record will be returned via mail. Third parties may obtain
medical records by subpoena or a signed and notarized medical
release along with a prepaid processing fee of $25. Normal response
to requests for medical records is ten (10) working days.
